Long-term design/maintenance - New spring garden, additions to the walled garden and new planting

An ongoing design and maintenance project, the garden has been developed in a number of ways:

The Walled Garden is now surrounded by new perennial borders/yew topiary and climbers relevant to the soil conditions and aspect. Half of the area is now given over to quince and mulberry trees and half to a new Victorian greenhouse with a potager style vegetable plot with cutting garden, squash patch and hazel structures to support beans and pumpkins. The formal long border is a mix of roses, perennials and obelisks with climbers.

The new naturalistic spring garden is planted with cherry trees and a mix of 100's of white bulbs with mown paths guiding you around the garden which is surrounded by a new yew hedge as a backdrop. Shaped topiary can be seen in both the walled garden and the long border.

A great effort has been made to ensure year round interest on clay soil with a high water table.
